It sells and makes money for the media. It's safe and cheap to produce and draws an audience.

The mass media is organized to sell us more, and more, stuff. Sometimes this stuff happens to be bogus, but sensational stories that will not be conflicted by subtleties of truth.

Real-life heros are covered, but that's not something that leads into the evening news.

It's an important event, and some in the media are trying to make sense of it. Sadly, others are in it to make a profit, and they're milking the story to prey on people's sadness during an emotional time.

In the race for profits and recognition, media outlets want to be the first to provide anything new that pertains to the shootings, and competitors are quick to follow. Sometimes, sound journalism takes a back seat to this competitiveness.

NO KIDDING. The people he murdered haven't got a tenth of the coverage he has... it's a shame really. Just wait, I'm sure they'll have a made for TV movie for it before long.

The media is like a leech....it will only latch onto something it can suck the blood and life out of, in order to secure its own existence.

Its called exploitation. Competition in today's media saturated word it is necessary and proper whether we like it or not.
