There would naturally be more white than blacks in government positions because there are more whites than blacks in America. But if 20% of the population is Black, one would expect 20% of the government positions be filled with blacks.

How close are we to equal in that sense depends on what you consider "in the government." I've noticed there are more blacks in post office jobs than whites. They are government workers. Do they count? Or do only elected officials count? Unfortunately, to many people seem to only want to vote for "their race." so in areas heavily populated with blacks, many elected officials are black and areas predominately white vote for whites.

Government workers? More Blacks, but only because satisfying quotas is a turn off for many whites, so even more blacks get the jobs. Can a racist handle an honest answer???
