What is the difference between a " chart" and a "graph"

A chart and graph are often used interchangeably in English. However, a chart is often wider as it can be in a variety of formats such as pie charts and so forth. A graph is often on graph paper and in an x-y format which has a formal name as a graph of a function.

A graph usually implies an x axis and a y axis.

Charts could be bar charts, pie charts, etc.
