CausesA code p0455 most likely means one or more of the following has happened:

A loose or improperly affixed gas cap
A non-conforming gas cap (i.e. not factory/original brand)

Possible SolutionsWith a p0455, the most common repair is to:

Remove and reinstall the gas cap, clear the codes, and drive for a day and see if the codes come back.
Otherwise, replace the gas cap, and/or
Inspect the EVAP system for cuts/holes in tubes/hoses (you may hear a vacuum noise or smell fuel), repair if necessary

The gas cap is a common reason, no count if this is loose or undesirable. i desire to recommend a substitute from the broker because of the fact of adverse qc on aftermarket gas caps. There are different capacity leak factors interior the evaporative administration device that would reason the code. you do no longer point out make, sort or 12 months, yet older automobiles are susceptible to cracked vapor hoses and a few fashions have a foul acceptance for different aspects cracking. changing the gas cap with a actual substitute from the broker and having the code cleared (which resets the verify engine mild) is a fee-useful thank you to start up.

Once you replaced the gas cap you need to have the code erased from the computer..... the code wont go away, it is stored in your computer like a hard fault. Get the code erased and see if it comes back, if it does read the code again and go from there.
