I think a person should be willing to make a living will that specifies circumstances under which he/she would choose to euthanized. I support the premise if specific wishes have been stated.
*edit* My mother died of lung cancer. It was a slow, agonizing death. She always said she was afraid her death would be long and drawn out. It was. We, her family, were devastated to see her grasp for every breath until the very end. I know if euthanasia was an option at that time that my mother would have chosen not to suffer.

Your body belongs to you and you alone. The choice to live or die rests with you and you alone. Other people i.e. government should have no say in the matter. There are only two types of people in this world: Pro-choice and Anti-choice. The anti-choice ones think they know you better than you know yourself. They are the dangerous ones. They would force their ideals on you rather than have you think for yourself. I'm for independent thought, freedom and liberty above all else.

Acceptable only if the person requests it .
Anyone doing it without the persons request for assistance would be homicide .
If a person has left instructions that in the event of certain accidents or illnesses , that they wish it , then that constitutes a request also .
Pain tolerance is each individuals decision ,
No one else can "see it" and decide for them .

I think everyone should have a living will, while they are of sound mind, that states their wishes. Like in case of no hope left, only suffering and misery, nothing left but a long slow death, I want the right to choose to die. You will do this for a loved animal, humans should have the same right to choose when its their life.

This is a disturbing question to me, I believe in the right to life, I also believe people should have the right to die with dignity. It is hard to watch someone you love suffer through a horrible death, it's also hard to let them go. I believe it is wrong to take a life under any circumstance. It is also wrong to starve someone to death in a nursing home but it is done legally all the time. Murder is murder in my eyes whether it is done by lethal injection or starvation. If I had to choose (for myself) it would be the injection over wasting away with my organs shutting down one by one, wouldn't you?

Definitely should be personal choice. If we can choose to kill a fetus, we should be able to choose to kill oursleves (yes, it's a morbid way of thinking, but it makes sense to me). Hey, has anyone seen Dr. Kevorkian?
I think this could also relate to taking someone off life support. And we all know that it happens all the time. It sucks, but it's part of life and trying to make our transition out of it as painless as possible.

If some one wants to die. Fill their gas tank for them and leave. I personally feel that once you have reached that peek of life and can no longer give to society you owe it to everyone one in America to leave your car running in the garage.

Euthanasia is again a matter of choice that should be respected.
