I think the best thing you can do is spend time with him playing baseball, talking baseball, whatever. Don't make him sick of it, but keep it healthy. Throw the ball whenever he wants to. Throw to him in the batting cages whenever he wants. It takes a lot of sacrifice from you, but if you really want him to make it... Find yardwork for him to do (builds strength) and reward him for it. You'll be "training" him for baseball and he won't even realize it. :)

Besides... any man in a yellow hat has to have some kind of good luck!

( **great answer "vipohockey4" **) it isn't any longer a issue in any respect. At 8 years previous, he continues to be arising the muscle tissue and tendons necessary to deliver the bat interior the direction of the zone with the value and "snap" that he and you go with. I umpire somewhat some video games for this age each and every spring and summer season, to boot as some preparation. For his tryout, what the coaches would be finding for the main is what he already has... protection and pitching. they're going to additionally look at usual hustle and recommendations-set. while it includes hitting, they choose to ascertain touch and that they prefer to ascertain that he would not swing at undesirable pitches. something to do with hitting the ball greater useful and sharper they're going to artwork with him on. it is their activity, and while they initiate up working with him and staring at him they're going to quite any little hitches or issues and help him regulate. ---- Grounder? Does he trot or does he buts his butt attempting to conquer it out? Pop fly? Does he drop his bat in disgust and merely meander to first, or is he already midway to 2nd while the ball drops in a glove or on the floor? He would desire to also have a comfortable bat, no longer too heavy, with the fattest barrell allowed. while he's on the tee, tell to prepare some in "slow action". He would desire to be turning his hips into the swing with the top physique following (perhaps checklist a a pastime or 2 of his sought after group or participant and slo-mo their swings in case your DVD or VHS participant will do it) and his head, nostril, and eyes down on the ball each and each of ways in... ultimately, and if he's severe, no longer unavoidably a final motel, hire or purchase a DVD (Google up "baseball hitting dvd childrens"... Dave Altopp has a sturdy sequence) and merely save on with what they say. Remind him and your self, that a substantial leaguer will play 7 video games a week, and get 6-8 hits out of 25-30 at bats... and that they're going to call him an All-famous guy or woman! (If each and every participant have been given a fulfillment each and every time, which would be a LOOONG pastime!) sometime very quickly, all of his prepare is going to pay off, and he's going to return via for his group in a great way! terrific of success!

sorry if you havent realized this yet.. but the chances of your kid getting to the big leagues are probably worse than you winning the lottery. so heres my advice to you:
1. start him playing early in t-ball and little league
2. don't let him throw curveballs (if hes a pitcher) until hes in high school
3. if hes showing promise, get him private lessons
4. pray to god he has natural born ability because without that he won't go anywhere
5. buy a lot of lottery tickets

good luck

That's a sharp looking hat you've got there. To answer your question, teach him to throw left-handed and switch hit. Those are two valuable commodites in the baseball world.
