im not american..and there are people in my country who are spoiled, i also have lived in 5 countries while being frequent in circles of really wealthy people,
but that show terrified me, no wonder many people do hate americans.
is it common for the rich in the u.s to be like that?

I couldn't even grasp having the amount of money that they do.
I get so jealous when i watch shows on MTV because I see rich people on there and I will never come close to having that much money. Not that i would want to have that much because it would change who I am, but even for one day of my life - I wish I could experience things they do. See something I want, and not worry about if I have enough money or not.
Living every day like that though, is just excessive.

Yes, that T.V. show is for real. The teenagers parents on the show probably make million's of dollars a year (depending on parent). It would be nothing for them to spend $400,000 on thier kids for thier birthday. If you don't think that it is possible, just imagine the type of party Donald Trump could give his youngest son when he turns 16. If I was that rich I would throw my son/daughter the best party too, but I wouldn't buy them a super expensive car.

I know! Their parents should be ashmed of themselves buying 16 year old girls bmws and mercs, flying them to Paris JUST to buy a dress, my god I could go on and on while all the time their are starving children and people in the world who havn't even got so much as clean water to drink?
Now what kind of example are they setting?

OMG I know - I say that the other day and was just in absolute shock and couldn't turn it off! The girl i saw had famous people singing, got a BMW, closed the main street to the hospital down so she could have a parade... Their parents should be completely ashamed.

Wow some of you foreigners sure stereotype a lot. Why don't you actually come to America and see for yourself instead of watching MTV all day and making your assumptions about Americans! Those girls are only a small fraction of the people that live here. Many people are poor here too.

Ive seen that programme i couldnt believe it was real, how can people spoil those children so much? i think it staged, surely no one can justify spending that much on a child, it obscene, we dont see any programmes on poverty in america, do we? im sure there is plenty of that!
