The Red Sox should the man no love like they have done with a lot of their star player in the past.

To lose a player like Damon over 1 simple year on a contract is ridiculous!

Red Sox management has confessed on several occasions that it was a huge mistake they he was not signed over something that trivial and lame. Sox fans should be angry with team management and not Damon.

He is a trader in their eyes. The Yankees and the Red Sox have pretty much the biggest rivalry in all of sports. The Yankee fans HATE the Red Sox and their fans and the Red Sox fans HATE the Yankees and their fans. Not only Johnny Damon leave the Red Sox for more money, but he went to the enemy. It might be different he would of went somewhere else, but not to the Yankees.

I don't think we Red Sox fans hate Johnny Damon at all. Rather, we are disappointed that a few bucks meant more to Johnny than playing in a city where he was respected and loved. I guess we thought his values were better than they turned out to be. Frankly, he is not missed, but that does not mean we hate him.

Chow!!

He now plays for the Red Sox's most hated rival, the Yankees. That's like Anakin Skywalker going to the Dark Side.

You have to understand that Red Sox fans are a little crazy. They like to pretend that they are "good guys" battling the Yankees' "evil empire". The reason people call the Yankees the evil empire is because of the ludicrous amount of money they spend... but guess what team is second in the MLB in spending money? Boston.

Anyways, I guess they like to think he would be equal to Benedict Arnold, who infamously betrayed the USA.

Well for the most obvious reason he went to the Yankees for the $ which pissed off a lot of fans who were loyal to him and he went to the rival for a few extra bucks. Also, if you read his book you will realize he is a scummy sleazy guy. I didnt like him at all his last year in Boston fte reading some comments he made and realizing he is a kinda a DB.

Because they are crazy! Even though he helped them win their first world series in many many years and break the "curse", they still dislike him because he went to the yankees. They can't blame him just because he is smart.
