Because most people cant think for themselves. They are all sheep and want to be 'cool'. Why not just stand on your own and be your own person and say no?

No to taking drugs?

Because most people want to fit in.

But I believe it takes a strong character to just say no, I'm not into that.

Then These are friends I would stay away from. A true friend does not want to convince you to do something that is harmful to you.

Because we want our friends to like us - we want their approval. Generally teens that are followers rather than leaders are more easily swayed into trying drugs. If your comfortable enough with your self and your decision you won't be afraid to tell your friends they're crazy if they think your gonna try that crap! If you just let them know that you have no interest in trying drugs they'll either respect that and drop it or they'll harass you and be annoying - in which case you can always find another friend.

I say no to my friends all the time..its called having a backbone..they tell us no..and with no qualms..but if you are afraid to talk to your friends truthfully then i guess i would question them as true friends.

Drugs is easy to say no too if you have the moral fiber and the smarts to realize the consequences of your actions..this comes with maturity...some mature early and some never mature...drugs=death or insanity or both...

OH! this is a very hard but important question. If they have offered you drugs is mean that they are not your really friends. Just say no because you do not want to hurt your body and encourage them not to do that either.
Good Luck!

some one who offers you drugs is not your friend.

peer pressure makes things difficult, but if you have low self steem and you have not taken advantage of all the things life has given you to enjoy..its even more difficult.

Part of the reason is that saying no seems serious and perhaps it implies the reason you don't want to is that it is something very dangerous and your friends don't want to be confronted with such a terrible idea when they think they are just having "harmless fun."

Because you're such a loser that you'll do anything for your friends?
I always said "no" when it came to drugs. Friends don't make it hard to say no.

I don't know. It depends on how much you want to please your friends or if you're scared they'll ditch you because you don't want to do drugs. I don't have friends who do drugs, but if I did, and they wanted me to, I'd tell them no because I don't think it's safe or that it'll benefit me in any way. If they want to ditch me then that's their problem, but then that shows me that they weren't such good friends after all.
