Hi Kaz.

The next solar eclipse visible anywhere in the Northern Hemisphere will be August 1, 2008. (There is one in August 2007 in the southern cone of South America and another in February 2008 which you could see in Antarctica or Australia/New Zealand).

The August 2008 eclipse is total only in some Arctic islands, Siberia, and remote areas of western Mongolia and China. You'd be able to see a small partial eclipse at sunrise in parts of eastern Canada inlcuding Labrador, Newfoundland and Nova Scotia. There's another slight partial eclipse in northern Canada and Newfoundland June 1, 2011.

The first eclipse that can be widely seen in North America will be the afternoon of May 20, 2012. It's an annular eclipse across a wide band from northern California to Texas, and a partial eclipse of the sun everywhere except Florida and the east coast.

The next really good total Solar eclipse is in India in 2009. The next one in North America is 2017, sweeping from Washington state to South Carolina.
