I would definitely throw it back. I myself am a diehard A's fan, so if caught a ball from Vlad or Mark Teixiera, I won't even think of keeping it. I think it all depends on how much you dislike the player.

I believe I would keep it, I mean it's a free baseball and you'd feel really bad if that player ended up in the hall of fame one day and that ball could be worth a lot. I remember watching a baseball game and the announcers were wondering why people throw it back because the umpires or ballboys just end up throwing it back into the crowd, so no matter what a fan is going to walk away with a free ball.

the team that you hate has to be there so the game can be played. not too many people has a ball hit by somebody in major league baseball. if you really dont want it sell it on ebay the other team has fans too

Um, yeah. Memories are memories. Then I could say something like, "This is a ball that Ortiz fouled in a game against Yankees, which Red Sox lost cuz Yankees rule!" But, I guess I would keep it.
