I do soccer and I'm not exactly sure what a soccer call back is. I just finished trying out and they said that if you get a call come back on a certain day.

if you get a call back that means they thing you are pretty decent and they want another look at you. well most of the time that is the reason. sometimes they will only call back a few players and then see who performs the best out of all those.

At the pro/top amateur level, The National Team is wanting the player to leave his club and play in a friendly/WC qualifier/tournament/WC.
Yours sounds like they don't want to hear from you if they don't want you on the team.

"if you get a call, come back on a certain day." Sounds pretty clear to me.

a call back is when they call you and tell you if you made the team. if you do not receive a call then they dont "call back"
