1. (D) Oxygen & Chlorine because they are both nonmetals and nonmetals do not form ionic compounds. The other choices have 1 metal and 1 nonmetal.

2. (C) CO2 because the carbon forms covalent bonds with the oxygen molecules. They are both also nonmetals.

3a. Covalent Bond. A Cow and a Horse are animals but different ones. An ionic bond and covalent bond are bonds but different types of bonds.

3b. Mg2+. Cl- is an ion of Cl (it gains 1 electron to achieve stability of 8 electrons). Mg2+ is an ion of Mg (it loses 2 electrons).

1A. Electronegativity difference is too small.

2. A, C, E, F are all not ionic

3. Covalent bond. It has nothing to do with ionic bonding
Mg 2+

There are 5 protons in Boron no matter the isotope or charge. 12g of water is less than the weight of a mole of water, and a mole of water = 6.02* 10^23 molecules of water. 1 mol water = 18g. 1.50 mol water = 27g.
