Better pray it's not prison time.... The fact that the employer is giving any time at all to pay back instead of turning the person in, if they have a higher person they answer to and they found out they could aslo be charged..... I would try and pay back to keep your or whomever name in the good.... After that STOP STEALING!!!!

The theft of seven thousand dollars is a felony.

If the money was entrusted to your care (like in the cash register or the safe), the theft becomes fraud - felony breach of trust.

The Louisiana court system tends to take a dim view of felons, and often puts them in prison for long periods of time.

probably a felony theft if it was a check they frown on that worse than useing a gun , but good news if it happened between two states then its federal and you get to go to a better prison with health care and less violence but heres the clue go to a lawyer it he let you pay back part then he has to deal fairly with you the first consult with a lawyer is free but maybe he can twist this as blackmail by the boss and get you off scot free withoutr a bill just dont frequent those old habitats where that dude hangs out see the lawyer

The employer does not have to give you any amount of time to pay back the stolen funds. That dollar amount is a felony and your are probably looking at prison time.

He's going in the joint for a long time. I can think of 49 better states to pull this kind of stunt in. The public defender system in Louisiana is almost nonexistent.

I wish you the best of luck. You are going to need it.

$7000 is a felony nearly anywhere. If I were the boss, you would be facing charges even if you paid the full amount back immediately.
