When I was 12 yrs. old I had the privelidge to shake hands with Bobby Kennedy when he came to our town in Oregon. And I was up watching TV the night he was shot. I felt a shocking devestation. I just watched the movie BOBBY. Hearing his words as an adult I am again devastated that we lost this man. Have you seen the movie? Did it change your thinking even a little? Did it touch a place in your heart, or inspire you? It renewed old convictions in me that I have become too apathetic about. In this country with gangs, violence and division, I have become weary of attempting to help create a community of equality for all. And honoring diversity. I am going to buy the movie and watch it when I feel like "We" as a nation cannot unite for the good of all of us. Did the movie touch you? I know some people will say things just for the sake of insult...that happens on this site, but so be it. It's worth it to hear from you that have honest feelings to share.

I have seen the movie, and have also watched and listened to as well as participated in discussions about it and the times that this devastation to the USA took place.

It really does remind us all how much a change in the political road that we have been on since his loss has brought us into a lot of the mess that our
country is living in now.

The feelings that were being aspired too during the times that Jack (John) and Bobby were alive and fighting for the survival and advancement of the country seem to have disappeared (not in all of us, thank the Blessed Lord, but in a lot of us.)

Apathy and the I can't do anything I am one person seems to be the new "battle cry" of the nation. (Yes, I was being a bit facetious there....) People seem to have truly forgotten that one person can really make a huge difference, and we can all live together and help each other no matter what our race religion or any other factor.

I can remember the times of college students who fought and had sit-ins for equality on college campuses, as well as the rest of the world. Now they are sitting in class in fear and seeming powerlessness.

It must have been a phenomenal memory for you to meet Bobby Kennedy in person, that is exactly how the Sheen/ Estevez family felt about Bobby and so felt compelled to make the movie.

I am quite familiar with the Kennedys, although I did not meet any of them, but was born and brought up in Massachusetts and my parents, and many of my friends parents thought of the losses as a personal blow as well as a great loss to the country. I can certainly remember being a kid and seeing John and Bobby working hard and giving their lives and the trauma that was caused in those times. When I was growing up, it was typical of every family to have pictures of the President, Martin Luther King, and the Pope and other "heroes" framed and placed among family pictures. My parents were not Catholic nor Democrat nor Black, but they supported the good in all people and supported the world and taught me to do the same. I can remember my parents saving newspaper articles about all of the freedom fighters and heroes of that time.(I find it difficult to find heroes today, sadly)

I think that we would be in a lot better place with regards to racism and advancement in all the areas that were important to Bobby and the country in those times if he had survived to become President.

I also believe that we could get back to what is important and what is right, if we would feel more empowered and work together, instead of all this infighting among races and religions and political parties.

All of the political upheaval greatly mirrors the self-centeredness and self-importance that has taken over people in todays world. The politicians should be finding ways to work together, regardless of personal agenda. I am sure that many political discussions took place in Bobbys time, and people disagreed, but people supported the country and the President and at least attempted to move forward.

I may not believe in many things that particular Presidents have done, but insulting and calling each other names does not solve anything it only leads to more upheaval and discention in the country.

How large of a percentage of people in this country do not take advantage of their right to vote? It is a huge number, and that is affecting the political quality of the country as well.

I know how hard women fought for my right to vote, and what my Dad went through in WWII for our freedoms and I will always vote. I know dozens of people who will not make the effort to vote, but spend huge amounts of time complaining about what is going on. Instead of trying to work and change things, complaining seems to be the new religion of choice.

We have so many advantages in this country, I cannot be apathetic even though I see a lot of apathy around me. If I have one more person comment that nothing can be done to stop anything wrong, such as the horrors in other countries, the wars and the carnage on our own college campuses I am going to scream.

They do not seem to understand that apathy is only going to make things worse, and eventually they or their children or grandchildren will be living in a much less advantaged state than they have had the privilege of doing.

I have actually had a few people tell me that it doesn't matter what they do, they do not think that they can worry or think about the future, that will be their children or grandchildren's problem....sad beyond belief.

Those of us that are blessed enough to believe that we can still change the world, and bring it back to the better place searched for all those decades ago just have to work harder to prove it can be done.

I noticed the film, Bobby in these days. It is approximately the men and women and parties occurring on the inn wherein he's assassinated and it suggests information pictures additionally of Bobby K. It is a touching movie with plenty of well track from the 60's. Ashton Kutcher has a kinda humorous function and Demi Moore is a under the influence of alcohol. She is a front room singer that has a drawback with alcohol and her husband is her manger, performed by means of Emileo Estivez who wrote and produced the movie...there are plenty of well characters on this movie and with out giving the whole thing away....I'll simply say that I laughed and I cried throughout this film.,..it's distinctive and it's valued at going to peer...

Robert Kennedys life aside, the movie sucked. He was a great person and I had the highest hopes going into this movie but it failed me. It was way too spread out and didn't focus in enough on any of the twenty some character that were in it. And Lyndsay Lohan almost ruined the whole movie for me. Just my opinion though.

I'm just about to watch the movie... and I was just a few years too young to have seen the LIVE TV coverage.

Yes his words were strong...

But later we found he procecuted Hoffa because of his Father's hatered of unions and his Father's ties to the mob... as AG he covered up his brothers adultery and his own involvement in the death of Marilyn Monroe.

The ONLY thing he missed was his Brother Ted killing a campaign staffer he'd been having an adulterous relationship with

I thought the film is quite relevant to today's condition and I'm sure Emilo intended that to be the case. A smart, well-directed film that uses the parallel association of the hotel staff to further drive home both, Kennedy's and Emilo's message....which, ironically, isn't everybody's goal.

Good film.
