I came out of a Dylan concert at Wembley Arena a week ago believing that Blind Willie McTell is Dylan's greatest lyrical triumph. It has lines that would make William Blake weep.. But then again, has there ever been a better opening line than 'They're selling postcards of the hanging' from Desolation Row. Gates of Eden and Chimes of Freedom are majestic. But Working Man Blues may just become my all-time favourite. Only time will tell (just who has fell, and who's been left behind). A great question but one on which you should definitely go your way, and I'll go mine.

You are obviously a person of high intelligence, and exceedingly great taste in music. I was lauding Dylan's music in the 60s, when many people, young and old, dismissed him as a mere fad. As for great Dylan songs, here are some of my favorites:
"Ballad of Frankie Lee and Judas Priest"
"Positively 4th Street"
"Please Crawl Out Your Window"
"A Hard Rain's Gonna Fall"
"Desolation Row"
"Rambling Gambling Willie"
And the greatest Rock song of all time: "Like A Rolling Stone"
Go to YouTube, and load up a few of his videos. Look for some of his more obscure works. They really display his genius.
