i came off scooter 2 weeks ago, i was coming back from parents and i had turned left off a roundabout and was on the straight when the backend slid out, i have broken ankle and couple of marks. It has not put me off riding - Sh*t happens. I got a Yamaha SR125 as scooters seem more prone to this however since going out after accident i brick it when coming to corners in wet weather and have no confidence in the bike staying up, any advice or other people had anything similar ?

No, but I did experience a bit of a confidence problem a while ago. I had just put new tires on a bike that I wasn't really familiar with. Weight, balance, and grip were different. I found myself chanting, "trust the bike, trust the bike, trust ...." as I made myself lean even further.

Over 25 years on and I somtimes still get nerovous when a car is coming up to the juntion of the road on the left. All because some idiot once did not stop and I went over the front of his car.

Sometimes though these feelings have saved me from repeating the accident.

However my scooter has never lost the rear end in the rain and the only time I ever did loose the rear was when I had a slow puncture. Check the tyre.

Years ago I was coming home on my KZ 550 and I lost control on a relatively (30 mph) slow 90 degree left hand turn. My bike fell and the bike and I both slid about 25 feet. Turns out my front tire was FLAT. Duh...

Make sure you've got tread...and air. I hope you recover quickly.
