Why do you want to go to Job Corp? Have you ever been to visit one? They are usually a lock up facility. Also they are for people who can't make it on the outside, for instance troubled youth or ones who are going to jail if they don't get into some kind of program. I am not saying their programs aren't any good because they are, you do get an education and you can also learn a trade, but they are structured programs that don't take any crap, now let your mother look at this answer, maybe she won't miss the next appointment.
How I know all this, my ex use to be a counselor at the one in Utah.
Good Luck.

Your Mom is looking out for your best interest. Where I'm from if you don't have a high school diploma finding a job is very difficult. Your Mom knows that without a high school diploma you will face a life of minimum wage jobs, which can't support 1 person let alone down the road when you may want a family.
By limiting your education now, you will limit your prospects in the future. I didn't like school either at your age, but I stuck it out, because my parents didn't give me a choice.
Today I have a decent life and though I'm not rich, I am comfortable and happy.

Sure you can quit school... if you think you can get a high paying job enough to live on and pay all your bills, rents etc! It's not enough being just a high school grad. Why do you think a lot of people are going back to school?
If I were you, I'd look at other schools and at least give it a try. If you don't want to, then good luck out there.

Ohhh, please don't quit school. You need it for so many reasons. Social, educational (of course) and you have access to so many options you won't have if you quit. I know it's hard but hang in there. Tell a teacher or guidance counselor how you feel, maybe they can help you make it through the rest of your high school time. Finishing high school tells your future employers you can complete things you start. Sometimes there are programs you can get into for kids who just don't want to be in school. Just don't be a quitter. You have a great Mom who cares about your future, don't disappoint her. Or yourself.

well dropping out is bad because well i wrote a essay here it is:
Also the kids who dropout may say that kids who dropout have more fun and less worries. Well this is not true because the Internal Revenue Services will come and take away your home or put you in jail if you can’t pay your taxes. Also if you do pay your taxes and rent, somehow, you will probably have no money to spend on food, water and bills.

Okay, I'm 30 and am homeschooling my kids because I think our educational system is El-Crappo.... a good book is "The Teenage Liberation Handbook" by Grace Lewellyn (not sure I spelled her name right!) Anyway, if you're interested in pursuing your education, just not in public school, give it some thought. The more informed you are, the more weight your comments will carry with your mom!

please dont drop out, you have no idea how this will effect the rest of your life. You NEED a high school degree more then you know. Over your life time you will considerable amount less then if you just hang in there for another two years. If you are having problems seek out your counselor or change schools
DONT DROP OUT!

What ever you do, don't quit school. Your ability to earn a good salary depends on the education you have. If you want to have nice things in life, STAY IN SCHOOL!
