Yes, I support all our constitutional rights... even the right to freedom of speech for those that take it too far. I might not like it, but it's their right.

The second amendment was never intended to GRANT the right to keep and bear arms. It RECOGNIZES the right. The framers of the constitution believed people had rights as people that the government could not take away. Self defense by ALL possible means is one of those rights.

The count contradicts himself. He claims to support legally carrying a gun for self defense, but says students should not be able to carry a gun on campus. The right to self defense does not exist if it does not apply where a person spends most of there time. "Gun Free Zone" are Criminal Protection zones. In case anyone didn't know, VA Tech was already a "Gun Free Zone".

I am not American, but I fully support your Second Amendment Rights, with respect to your right to bear arms legally for your defence. I do not support gun violence of any kind, nor should a student be able to buy a gun and go on campus with it or anywhere else. The only change I would make is in raising the age level where you can buy a gun anywhere, for any purpose. I'm sorry, but the volatility of campus life is very conducive to using a gun in the heat of the moment, considering how much drinking & shooting up(so to speak) goes on. Liquor & drugs change who you are. I should know, because I am a recovering alcoholic, sober since 1998. It changed who I was, and my own mother didn't hardly know me when I was loaded. We don't have the inhibitions we normally would if we were sober, so, if a situation arises on campus that gets heated, the drunk person, or someone who is high who has a loaded gun in his/her possession, what do you think is going to happen ?
The 2nd amendment needs some tweaking, to say the least !

Yes I do, but what is meant by "militia" is not what most think. It is closer to the right of communities to establish a law enforcement agency, such as armed police. Also, I do own a gun. Infact, I own a few guns. (I like to hunt.)
