you can reduce the equation from 20over 125 to (4 over 25) then you say well the square root of something is saying basically What times itself equals this number... so the square root of four you say "what times itself equals four" and the answer is "2 times itself equals four" so you say here what times what equals 4 over 25 and when you multiply fractions you multiply the top number by the top number (numerator) and the bottom number by the bottom number (denominator) so you split it up as the square root of 4 over the square root of 25
2 times 2 =4 and 5 times 5 = 25 so the answer is
2/5
or
2 over 5
