Connect your ipod, itunes will open up, Under the ipod symbol you'll see music click itl, you'll see a list of all your music thats on ur ipod. Whatever song you no longer want click on it. It will now be highlighted. At the top of the screen you will see edit. click on edit and then you'll find delete. Click delete and it will ask you if you if your sure you want to delete the song press yes and the song will be taken off your ipod.

Thats how i do it using my mac if you want all the songs off highlight them all, then edit, delete.

Right click the song you want to delete, & simply hit delete. OR HOWEVER if you have the latest version of iTunes, go into your purchased list [where you can delete songs] & delete the ones you want to be deleted. Then go to your iPod summary & click over to sync. Check the box that says purchased & click apply.

From iTunes, in your library songs have a check mark next to them. If you uncheck a song, then sync the iPod, the unchecked songs should be removed. At least that is the way it works with my nano.
