3/5 + 5y = 7y - 14/15

15(3/5) + 15(5y) = 15(7y) - 15(14/15)

9 + 75y = 105y - 14

9 + 75y - 75y = 105y - 14 - 75y

9 = 30y - 14

9 + 14 = 30y - 14 + 14

23 = 30y

23 / 30 = 30y / 30

23 / 30 = y

multiply everything by 5/1

3+25y=35y-70/15

multiply everything by 15

45+375y=525y-70

add 70 to both sides

115+375y=525y

subtract 375y from both sides

115=150y

divide by 150

23/30=y
