My boyfriend turned his supervisor in for doing drugs at work. Then two days later his supervisor fired him. They are calling it a layoff, but we believe it is because he turned his boss in. This company is not too legal anyways. They have loads of stolen farm equipment and they require their workers to "volunteer" time without being payed. Is there anyway to take legal action against this company. This is a small town family owned company that has been around for 20 years. Please help!

When he goes in to file unemployment, they usually have a Labor Board or something similar to it there. Go and talk to them. Also, there are attorneys who will sue and not charge you anything but will take half the proceeds if you win. But this is a long haul and probably not very practical.

suggest that you seek Legal help. Make some appointments with attorney's who specialize in that area of Law & arrange a consultation to gain insight on your situation and and learn your about your rights. You can also call the Labor Board, check with the State Bar & other goverment agencies as well so gain knowledge & understanding of what course of action will be best for you to take. You will need to get on this and not give up. Fighting for your rights and standing up against those who would violate & disregard them, it is one of the most important actions you can do to defend individual freedoms keeping this country honorable; this will be your contribution in the fight agaist injustice. The labor board may be your best place to start. Write down you version and any facts, dates, idea, etc.. & keep a calender of events... good luck...

depends....in canada, we would go to the labor relations board. they take care of all of that stuff, or point in the right direction. there must be something like that were you are? or get the advice of a lawyer and by the sounds of things? out of town lol. there has to be a labor relations act or something similar. good luck :-)

Unfortunately, at will employment allows termination for just about any reason. If he was under contract, that would be different, because then the breach would be an actionable tort. In this case I dont see a whole lot of recourse.

Can you prove they have stolen farm equipment? If so, drop a dime. I wouldn't talk to the local police if I were you.

Pay a retainer to a labor lawyer. Then follow his advice.

Call a lawyer from one of the next towns over. Ask if he/she thinks you have a case. If they think so, it'll cost ya, but if you think it's worth it, I would get a case against them.
