what are British people known for?

I'm writing and artical on Britains' modern institustions, nation pride and national identity. It a informal piece so i just want to know from british people what they feel to be british and from forgieners to what they think when they here Britain or england? thanks xxxx

i am british, i dont have yellow, nor am i a snob, nor do i drink tea lol so not all british people lol x

Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and many 60's rock bands. I doubt if that is what you were wanting to hear but I am a baby boomer and that is my generation.The Brit.'s made the very best music!

I am from the United States and when I think of Britain or England. The 1st thing that comes to mind is the Royal Family. I've never been to England but only seen movies and what has been in the news. I think of Castles, the Queen, Guards outside. Diana and Charles. The sites and how the lingo is different than ours here in America.

I have a Pen-pal that was born in England she moved from there, but is now back in London. I have never met her but I feel as if I've known her since we have been pen-pal's my entire life. She has sent me postcards of it and I would love to visit there someday. I think it would be neat to visit England. I like the way they call the bathroom the "lou" and stuff like that. I think ya'll are ALRIGHT and for all those negative comments we have snobby people here in the U.S. to so there.

P.S. I forgot to mention alot of our best actors are britist. Look and Hugh Laurie "DR. House" and alot of our "hot" good actor come out of guess where ENGLAND you cant tell it by the way the disguise their voices but read their bio's and your'll see. Just thought I'd mention that the next time you want to take a punch at England. :)

I'll give you an example of the best of British from today. We took my son's rugby team up to Yorkshire (about 300 miles away) on tour. I had to take one lad off to the hospital to get checked out as he had banged his head. The wife of the opposition coach not only showed us the way, but stayed with us. I said there was no need for her to waste her day, but she said she would stay around in case he was kept in. If his mum had to come up, or I had to stay over, they had a spare room.

We had never met before, will probably never meet again, but help to a total stranger was offered freely when it was needed.
