I would call them "Inari" and "Kiba". Both are Japanese words, that I think sound very mythological indeed, and they both have a foxy ring to them as it is!
Inari is what one would call a Fox Deity, or a spirit of a deceased family member that has returned in the guise of a Fox, in Japan. And 'Kiba' simply means 'Fang', which I couldn't think to ever be inappropriate to name a fox!
I look forward to hearing your fable! In love and light, Tasha x

If one is a female, just name it vixen, which is the actual name for a female fox. If you have a male, name it something that has to do with dogs (like Canis) becuase they are actually called dogs.
However, if you knew the time period or place where your fable takes place, it would help.
By the way, I know how much trouble it is to name animal characters. I recently had to write a fable about some Hawaiian fish. Never mention the name "Kai" to me. I will go crazy...

Really need more information as in the sex of the Fox. Vinnie and Violet are my suggestions. Just try to think of names that have hot been used very often, that will make your story unique.
