I would say take it to the dry cleaners unless you have a large capacity washer, if you do make sure that you put the water on cold and use a half of a lid of laundry detergent. Do not put it in the dryer immediately. Let it air dry for a little bit and then you can place it in the dryer but put the cycle on cool. I have a queen size down comforter and this is how I clean it!! Hope this helps!!

If you no longer have the tag that gives you the cleaning info, I would take it to be dry cleaned. If you know it to be washable, that usually requires a much larger washer and dryer than you would typically have at home. Again, dry clean it....less hassle.

The easiest way will be to take it to the cleaners. An easy alternative to keep it cleaner is to use a coverlet or the like to protect the comforter itself from the oils in your skin. Instead of washing the whole thing, just take the coverlet off and wash it instead.

Most synthetics and blends are washer safe (regular cycle) and dryer safe (low heat). Dawn ones need to be dry cleaned. If you don't have a label anymore, go to Macy's and check the label on a new one.
