i love acting but i'm concerned that as a Christian i'd have to do something unpleasing to God. i honestly wouldnt mind but i dont wanna displease Him. i dont wanna be an actress that's a Christian and turns people from God cause i do bad stuff in movies. If not being an actress is the answer what could i do that would allow me to meet famous people.

I consider sex and nude scenes displeasing to God along with cussing. im not sure if kissing in movies is bad.
my goal is to enjoy acting and help others because of any fame i may gain.
meeting celebrities seems interesting to me, not that regular people arent cool, but i just want to.

SISTER,MY SISTER........
DO "YOU"think you should pursue acting is the question. what is in your heart? what is your age?i only ask that question in terms of your acting experience. such as do you already have a resume, and head shots, or are you a novice who feels she's got what it takes? back to the heart. you don't really sound like a baby in Christ,i feel you're striving to do your walk correctly. so you know all about your GOD voice.
Theatre" is " my life, aside from taking care of children.I couldn't ask for two better professions.beginning with the children, what could be better than nuturing the babies, the most Christlike spirits on earth!!!As for my theatre life, i was a ballet dancer in a school by age 8.i remained a ballet dancer all the way through to age 26, performing with professional companies. i knew i could do more. i got into plays.i knew i could do more. i became a singer.i traveled 3 of our 4 continents. i knew i could do more. at age 50,i went back to school and got an associate in Early Childhood Education .i am now 54, sing and or dance at weddings, teach dance as a guest teacher, and i am a nanny. did i mention i was the mother of one child during these years ,who will be entering college at age seventeen?
so, where do you think i get all this inspiration and blessings from?do you think i once took off anything? did i once say something that GOD would not approve of while acting or singing?would i have received any of those blessings AND......be blessed with a beautiful child who not once was in trouble with the law,or well known in the streets as one of the notorious, growing up?Stand strong in your convictions for The Lord.Listen to Him. When you ask Him a question,Believe, and Give It To Him. Should you feel you cannot not handle the "usual" theatre world, your alternative is not a hard one. There are more than enough Christian based plays and showcases than ever with actors and actress announcing to the world that GOD rules! you have to do the networking it takes get started. However, acting is not the career to pursue if rejection isn't something you can handle.
be Blessed and Prosper!

I have a Christian actress friend, she writes and directs plays for the Lord.
The plays are presented at the church where she is a member. Maybe that is something you can do.
Don't look to acting to meet famous people. Wait until you are well-known to be concerned about stunt doubles. At the moment it's a moot point!

if you have to ask then the answer is most likely NO. If you are supposed to pursue acting then it would come to you as easy as breathing and you wouldn't be so worried about the details....
i guess the deeper question here is what are your motives? what do you think you would have to do that would "displease" God so much? why would you have to do "bad things" just to be famous? (what do you consider bad). these are the points you mention that tell me your own answer is already no because that is what you have decided..
you mention that you want to meet famous people... why? what is so much more special about a famous person? which famous people do you want to meet (what are they famous for)? i only ask because you seem to be questioning your self based on christianity so here's your litmus test.. WWJD? would Jesus insist on only meeting the suparstars or his day? mmm, i don't think he did that.... not that he avoided them either... i'm just covering all of the options here so you can go ahead and make up your own mind. in the meantime while you are discovering your motives....let's see.... how to meet famous people... you could become famous yourself (there are many ways in our society today to gain notoriety). umm, you could always become a drug and alcohol counselor if you want to meet famous people. or you could even be a publicist or a personal assistant, or trainer, or waiter, or maid. you could be a stunt double... or you could go to the other end of the spectrum and become a papparazi... you see there are many ways to meet famous people
in short, if you follow your passion in life it will take you where you need to be... just be careful what you wish for

Maybe you should step back and consider what you have just said...you wouldn't mind doing the stuff, but don't want to displease Him. If you truely want to live the life of a Christian, then you need to put Him first. Many people are both Christians and Actors/Actresses, but it can put you into uncomfortable positions where you are in a gray area occationally. You need to do what God tells you to do. I would start with lots of prayer and getting into the word, and see what happens then.

im a christian too and im also pursuing a career in acting. i think you should do it. remember that you dont have to do anything you dont want to do. if there is a kissy scene that you are uncomfortable with the producer could write it off if it's not important. all these actresses and actors that kiss in movies do so becos they wanna do it.
i dont think kissing in a movie is a bad thing. depending on the kiss if it is like a deep or mature tongue action kiss then u probably shouldnt agree to it but if it's quick i dont see anything wrong in it.
i hope that u'll ultimately make the right choice. you will if you pray to God about it and try to listen to your heart.

When you think about acting, do you get that good feeling in your heart, like you do when you think about some one you have a crush on? If so, maybe you should act. Pray to God and ask him to help you find your way and make a desision. Maybe find a Christian Theater. As they say in Sound of Music, When the Lord closes a Door, Somewhere, he opens a window!

There are many actors/actress out there (stage and screen) who have refused to do scenes that include nudity and/or profanity. It is harder to have artistic control over the whole movie.
You should be able to stay true to your religious beliefs and still pursue a career in acting. Good luck!

Of course you should be an actress if that is what you have a talent for. If there weren't any Christian actors there wouldn't be any Christian movies. The Biz needs people wth standards and integrity making entertainment for people who don't want to be flooded with trash.

Do I think you should pursue acting? No.
The fact that you're asking is implying that you're looking for a reason *not* to act.
Acting is a difficult and often disappointing endeavor. Anyone who has any question on whether they should act or not should find other employment.

I'm sure that if you want to act then go for it.. its up to you what rolls you play, of course you have to get the roll in the first place, but you pick what auditions you go for. and there are lots of acting that does not contain the things you don't like I'm sure. as for a stunt double i think you would be saying its OK if someone else does it.. and if you don't believe that then don't let someone else do it , in your name....lol
