for an economics project i need to calculate how much taxes i would have to pay as a neurologist who earns about 140,000 a year. are there any websites that can help me find how i can figure this out?

If you're in the US, go to irs.gov and download form 1040A and its instructions. To fill out the form, you'll have to make some assumptions. Unless your teacher told you otherwise, you could either fill it out as filing status single, or filing status married filing a joint return - those would be easiest. If he has a couple of kids, owns a house... it gets more complex.

A real neurologist would probably have a pretty complex return, so might not even be able to use that form. But for purposes of the assignment, this should do.
