I would have to know you regardless of your age & qualifications. That's the sort of decision a person doesn't generally make without knowledge.
The only "stranger" I would ever l;eave my kids with would have to be a certified daycare. Or someone my close friends/ relatives have trusted & liked.
Sounds like you are on the right track though! Start off with people you know! I babysat for neighbors at age 12, but I grew up around them & was very responsible at that age. But I know 30 yr-olds today that I wouldnt trust.
Depends on the person.....

Baby sitting license?
Start with family and friends and work from there. Your parents friends must have little ones. If they go out they need someone to watch the kids. Thats where you come in.
You could always try putting up signs in supermarkets and other high traffic mom with kids area.

I have no idea, dear, because I don't know you personally. I don't think that 8-and-a-half and 9-year-olds are ready to babysit, and I don't really admire the judgement of parents who would have let you start that early. That really has little to do with you now, though, and the only way to know for sure is to start asking parents in your area if they are looking for a baby-sitter. Personally, I think that 14 is a little young to start, but some of the parents might disagree. .

I personally would not b/c I am a very protective mother. I'm sure you are a great person, but you are very young, are not very well experienced b/c watching your brother is much different than someone else's child... and i have young children. I don't want any one person watching my children either-- i would much rather have a state-licenced facility do it. but kudos to you for getting your baby-sitting license. Didn't even know they had such a thing!! Good luck.

you sound very responsible. I'd trust you. I'd start out by asking you to watch my kid for a matter of hours or something like that while I went shopping. Then the more experiece I have with you, the more I would trust you.
I know from your prospective, it seems like we don't trust you, but with all the abuse going on these days, its hard to trust anyone.
If you can get someone to give you a chance, say for a matter of hours or something... then you could work you way up and ppl would see how well you do.

I don't know you so I would have to say no.
If I were you I would tell your parents, aunts and uncles, and any other adults in your life that you would like to start babysitting. They will know people who need a sitter. Most parents would feel better leaving their kids with a sitter they know or one that was recommended by someone they trust.

my daughter is 14, and she's been babysitting the neighbor boy since she was 13 - for whole evenings. there's been no problems so, yes, I would trust you, especially given the fact you have babysitting class (I know what that is).

Most babysitters who are your age are given a fair chance by parents.
My babysitters as a kid were 14-16 years old.
