discovered the nucleus by shooting a beam of electrons through a cloud of atoms, but some were reflected. Electron cloud model is 3D

Rutherford from what i remember from my school days proposed the idea of a possible alignment of electrons around the nucleus of an atom.

Bohr and electron cloud...well that is googlable as well.
