as more info is released, and as more victims speak out... I find it kinda disturbing that none of the victims seemed to fight back. Are we as American's "wussing out" this badly these days? Just seems he could have been overtook, he wasn't hulk hogan

Fred...
thats right he had 2 pistols and fired over 100 shots, that means even with a 15 round magazine in each pistol he had to reload a minimum of 3 times with each... and there is no way you can do that without letting your guard down for a few seconds

none of these were not "children" These people were as old or older as heroes who give their lives everyday over in Iraq.
I admire the Professor who tried to hold the door shut so others could escape, maybe if one other stood up to help him he as well as the others in the classroom at the time may have lived. Instead you have people playing dead and only concerned about themselves

AFter 911 I also remember the "lets roll" that real heroes acted at a time when they were threatened.
I agree that maybe talking and peace may be the answer sometimes...but there are times when you have to react

I have been asking this question since day 1, but I waited until enough people had reported first hand accounts of what happened. And now the autopsies report no one fought back, the media hasnt reported anyone fought back, you have reports of first hand witnesses frigging "playing dead", I have yet to hear ANYONE say anything about a group of guys got up and went after him or anything. im not gonna call them all wussies, but im sure thinking it

Yeah, where is our "let's roll" mentality?
For those who say that it would have been impossible to stop him, I don't think that's true.
Classrooms are typically small and students sit very close to the door. Especially in a generally education type classroom which is what the rooms were.
In fact some of the students played dead instead of running at him.

I think now is a good time for everyone to take some time and think about how you could have handled the sitution. Imagine what it was like and prepare yourself if it ever happens to you.

Once the shock of what was happening subsided, some of these brave souls DID fight back. Only to loose their lives. I just read were the coroner said he had shot enough ammo into the victims to kill 100 people. Some had three bullets in them. They were shot in the face and in their arms. The coroner said some were shot in a way that indicated they were attempting to shield themselves against the bullets. I don't know how folks can say that they didn't try and defend themselves. They interviewed some who did. I also heard that he actually went back in to one class room and "re"-shot the ones already laying on the floor dead.
Well Dylan, I can't understand why you asked this question, you seem to have ALL the answers...

It replaced into presented that the victims will receive their degree's posthum. so a techniques as a reimbursement is going, i do not imagine the dad and mom are going to ask for a training refund, yet i ought to guess there'll be some wrongful lack of life claims made antagonistic to the college and administration. With the evidence of human beings reporting his habit, i ought to guess there is going to be some litigation which will finally end up in funds for the households.

What would you call what the professor did that held the doors closed so that his students could escape thru the windows? He was an older man.. and that's about the most productive "fight" he could have had....... And he did lose his life.. Most that encountered him were practically children themselves.. I think that we have learned of many heroes, living and now, sadly, deceased over the past week....... Since all thought the first shooting was an isolated incedent, law enforcement officials just were not there, nor did they know the magnitude of the events to come.. granted, most may not have been willing to be martars, I doubt many of us would have... it would have been invain...... dealing with a madman is a losing battle for all concerned..........

I think it is hard to imagine what one would do in a certain situation until they are in it. I read that there were professors and others that helped people to escape at the cost of their own lives. I would think that is quite honorable as they did die fighting in my opinion.
I just wish we would stop with the political correctness in this country though and when someone shows early warning signs of being a freak, we should be able to remove them from college, school, work settings without the ACLU getting their nose all in it

Would you fight back if some one had to guns? I heard that a teacher risked his life for his students. He held the door shut as his students crawled out of windows. He lost his life fighting back. It is hard to know what you would do in that situation until it is upon you. I could say I would fight back. But would I when the situtaion really happened? I hope I would but you never no.

Not to sound cold-hearted or anything, but to fight back against a man with two highpowered handguns, who has chained the door behind himself, is equal to having tried to have held up the Twin Towers.
It's been proved again and again that fighting back gets you shot sooner. To stand down, and to try to make the attacker talk, often makes them back down as well, even so far as to get them to stop attacking altogether.
I think this question is horrible: How can you find it within yourself to criticize the dead at this time of mourning?

I think the answer is survival instinct for most people to save their own lives. However, few people are selfless hero and they will sacrifice themselves to help others. If one is (was) in military, then he/she would have fought back despite of being killed or shot.

Reality check, buddy...I'd say a two handguns and chaining the door behind him pretty much put him on footing with Hulk Hogan. And don't you DARE suggest that it's their fault for being shot. In this day and age people are taught "love, not guns" so exactly how do you expect that to know what to do when a madman comes at them?

Well first off I think your incorrect a few of the victims did fight back and a few jumped out the windows to get away. Second if you were sittting in a classroom and someone comes in shooting what are you gonna do?
