Atomic radius increases down a column because each element has an additional shell of electrons around the nucleus.

As you go across, radius decreases. As you move across, the nuclear charge increases, causing the electrons to be attracted more strongly, and thus pulled closer to the nucleus.

It decreases to the right since the value of Z is increasing, and increases going down because the value of n is increasing.
