Yes, cramps are normal. The cramping occurs because the uterus is contracting as it tries to expel it's inner lining.
Different women find different things helpful.
1. Sit in a hot bath.
2. Have some hot food or a hot drink.
3. Curl up with an electric heating pad.
4. Wear a heating pad. ThermaCare makes heating pads that stick to the inside of your pants. You'd be surprised how much heat helps.
5. Take Advil, Ibuprofen, Tylonel, or some other kind of pain reliever and/or muscle relaxer (tell you mother you have a headache, if necessary).
6. Try not to shift position too often, as that can upset your uterus. When you take a seat, sit down slowly.
7. The most comfortable positions for you are lying on your back propped up by pillows and lying on your side; these positions take weight off of your uterus.
8. Stick to pads while you have cramps. I'm not sure why, but tampons cause pain sometimes.
9. Avoid caffeine, which can cause your uterus to contract harder.
10. Massage your uterus (rub the area on your belly where you are having the pain).
Do talk to your doctor about the cramps at your next physical. He or she might have suggestions, and can prescribe powerful pain relievers or the birth control pill (the birth control pill regulates hormones and often lessens cramping).
Of course, if your cramps are severe (especially if they cause you to faint or vomit), you MUST see a doctor A.S.A.P. It could mean that you have cysts, or endometriosis (a disease in which your uterine lining is growing in the wrong place).
I hope I helped!

It's usually normal to have some mild cramping. You should only worry about the cramping if it becomes so bad that you can't get up and move around, you can't walk much or something like that. Also if the cramping lasts for more than a few days then you might want to go see a doctor. You should take Advil (Ibuprofen) because it's anti inflammatory and it will help with the pain and the swelling. You can lay in a hot bath, use a heating pad or even better use ice packs for your back and belly. Most people use heating pads but if you think about it, you're already swollen and irritated inside your tummy so heat will tend to make all of that worse. Ice will help with swelling and inflamation. Good luck

Yes, cramps are normal. Almost all women get them. You should take pain medication. Try tylenol several times a day when you have cramps. If that doesn't take the pain away, try some ibuprofen too. You don't have to tell your mom. It's your body, not hers. Just get some feminine products at the store and don't worry about telling your mom.

Cramping for many women is a normal problem that comes with their period. Heating pads, tylenol or motrin may help. Do not take aspirin products as they cause you to bleed more. Make sure that you only take the dose that is correct for you. Your Mom may have some other handy advise as well. Most women suffer through cramps and believe me your mom would probably be more then happy to talk to you about what works for her.
You are her little girl and you are growing up right in front of her eyes as the onset of your period tells her. She may appreciate you asking her for some advise as this lets her still be a part of your life. Watching our little girls turn into women is really hard for us Moms. Take it easy on your Mom.

Talk to your mom and ask her to get you some Midol. Cramps are very normal and can by quite painful. Your mom has been through it all before and can help you. If you don't feel comfortable call an aunt or ask an older sister. Don't take any medications without the help of an adult. Stay away from caffeine that is said to make them worse.

Yes it is normal...unfortunately!!
Try taking Mydol or Pamprin...those can help with all the "side effects" you may have...
Try to stay active, I know it seems unthinkable cause ya just feel yucky...but take a walk or go for a swim. Ya don't have to hike up a mountain or swim 10 laps in a Olympic sized pool...just 5-10 minutes.
Trying doing a warm compress on your lower tummy. Warm wash cloth, a heating pad, hot water bottle, warm blankie or towel fresh from the dryer. Or try taking a warm bath...it helps relax you and then get into comfy clothes and press a lil pillow on your tummy...watch your favorite movie or take a nap.
Best of luck!

Cramps are normal. Are your's? Maybe. Only your doctor can tell you. Some people have a low tolerance to pain. You might be one of those or you may have a serious problem. In any case, a doctor is who you should be asking this question.
Fix things with your mom before its too late.

Cramps are a normal thing when it comes to periods. Sometimes you won't get any and sometimes you'll get painful ones. It's a pain in the *** but it's normal. You can buy certain pain killers for period pains at the chemist and they work quite well. Hope that helps.

Cramps are perfectly normal, I had really bad cramps when I started my period, and two, to help with the cramps, you should take midol, it works really well for cramps, but you should ask your mom if that is the right medicine for you, allergy wise and such, and there are other medicines that can help with that. A.K.A. aleeve, tylenol, etc.
