"Somebody should do something about..." or "Something should be done about..." Trying to find some ideas for my girl scout troop to do for our gold award.

Some ideas from other Gold Awards:
Zoo camp - they developed a camp program (four 1/2 days and an overnighter) for the local zoo for elementary age children. The got funding for all of the handouts and activities they did, along with food for snacks and meals(overnighter). Great program that the town didn't have!
Renovated the local food bank - new shelving, tables and chairs, paint job, etc. Also developed a logo for the food bank and made a sign for the front. They then left all of the computer graphics and logos for the food bank to use when putting out ads, asking for donations, etc. Allowed the GS Seniors to really use their talents - computer graphics and labor! They also helped do a mass collection so that by the time they were done, the shelves were overflowing. (Idea could be used for just about any local non-profit!)
Children's Library - local library was not child friendly. Girls developed a theme with little kid input, redecorated the children's area, and even got some doors donated to put up and keep the areas separate and the noise level in the main library down.
