Why do humans want "payback" when animals are happy with running away and licking their wounds.

although vengeance may feel good at the time afterwards your still left hurt if you can learn to forgive and forget your teaching yourself to grow as a human being.So I say forgive but never forget.why would anyone want to forget the things that make them stronger.
