I'm great at fixing things, but I tend to lack the ability to grow things very well.

I have a patch of dirt on the side of my house that gets daily foot traffic from kids and dogs. Fifteen feet wide, and fourty feet long.

I don't want or need a nice lawn as it's not a play area. I just want to cover it with something durrable that's green with minimal stickers in it, and fairly easy to maintain.

Sun, and shade mix. I was thinking about bermuda grass.
Your ideas?

(I'm not sure if this would grow well in California since it is often found from Texas to Montana but it might be worth looking into)

Buffalo Grass~Buffalo grass is a low growing, commonly only 8 to 10 inches high, warm season perennial grass. Individual leaf blades may reach 10 to 12 inches in length, but they fall over and give the turf a short appearance.
