without all the details I will take a few liberties. I will assume that this failure happen all of a sudden, if this is the case either the clutch cable has broken or the clutch spring has broken. If this happened over time I would estimate that the clutch has gone out of adjustment at the cable sheath or in the trans. If the cable sheath lock nut has come loose you can roll back the rubber adjustment protector and check. if this is the problem just extend the sheath until the lever is no longer loose and get it to the dealership and have them perform a proper clutch adjustment. If it is in the trans the dealer should make this adjustment..... Good luck

The clutch needs to be adjusted, the clutch isnt disengaging far enough to let you shift cleanly. Do you have alot of slop at the clutch lever? there may be too much slack there, or you (or your mechanic) will have to adjust the clutch at the trany. It's no big deal really. If you have been riding it since you've noticed it , then you may need a new clutch pack by now from it slipping.
