Once you get into the water your body will adjust a little bit and you won't feel as cold as when you first went in. Just jump right in and don't work your way down the whimp ladder.

From there you can swim around and do whatever you want to. Just realize that swimming aimlessly will not make you swim faster or lose more weight, swimming with an actual diversified workout is what you really need to do to lose weight. If you don't swim with a workout there's almost no way you can lose weight.

If the water is warm enough for the pool to be open the temperature is probably safe, so you can swim if it's comfortable for you. You need to be careful about possible cramping, and you need to make sure a lifeguard is on duty.

Just be careful and don't swim if you can't do so reasonably comfortably.

yes do it, you will get warmed up so quikly it wont matter if the pool is freezing. i hate swimming in warm pools, you start to feel like your in a jacuzzi, and then your muscles relax and you go soooooooooooooooooooo slow
