Printer Canon i560 photo problems?

Alternating dark and light horizontal lines appear when trying to print photos. Such lines do not appear when printing plain black text. I've tried cleaning heads, aligning heads, setting half-tone to diffusion, all as suggested in owner's manual. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks

How old are the print cartridges? May be time to replace. Try cleaning the area where the cartidges sit.

sounds like itis time to replace the ink cartriges!
