A neighbor of mine has 12 cats. They all stay indoors. The cat urine and poo smell is so bad that it fills the whole neighborhood with this aroma. One day this neighbor ask me to take her somewhere. I almost threw up, but I got her there and back. It took a month to get the odor out of my car. I have called around to see what I might could do, but everyone I call says that there is nothing I can do. I can not entertain in my back yard anymore. I have a pool, but no one wants to swim in it anymore because the ordor is so strong that it comes right into my back yard. I live in the middle of town, not the country. How can this go on in the city. I need help. The mailman quit delivering her mail for a while because he could not stand to go up on her porch to put her mail in her mailbox. He wrote her a note and told her to pick it up at the post office. he hoped this would straighten her out, but it didn't. The smell is getting worse and worse. I am desperate.

First, get a copy of the film Gray Gardens about Edith Beale, Jackie Kennedy's aunt who had more cats than your neighbor and posed a similar problem. You can either burn incense, develop a fondness for the smell of cat excressences, wear a respirator around your home, or move away. If you can't garner the support of your local humane society or a your local magistrate, you don't need help, you need to move. What other choice is there? Become a murderer or a litter box emptier for your neighbor? I think not.

Think seriously about moving.

Today Steven Spielberg lives on Edith Beale's street and she's long dead. Keep your chin up. Maybe someday the neighbor and the cats will be gone.

Call the humane society, anything more than 6 pets like cats or dogs requires a kennel license and if the stench of cat feces and urine is that bad then they are not being cleaned up after like they should be and that could be unhealthy for anyone in the area.

I would make a complaint to either the city building inspector or the health department. There is something seriously wrong if you can smell your neighbor's indoor pets while you are outside of their home.

hose him down with a fire hose, then get ready to do some time in jail for doing that, but it will be worth it cause it will give you some satisfaction by showing the neighbor how you feel about his smelly @$$.

A complaint to the health department can do wonders.
