This is all I could find for Sept. 5, 1979.
An errant pickoff throw allowed two runs to score as the Pirates beat the St. Louis Cardinals, 7-5, in 11 innings at Busch Stadium. In the 11th with the bases loaded, St. Louis reliever Darold Knowles tried to pick off Bill Robinson at first but the throw caromed off Robinson's elbow. Omar Moreno, who doubled with one out, and Dave Parker, who reached with an intentional walk, scored on the play.
Home runs by second baseman Phil Garner and first baseman Willie Stargell in the fourth tied it, 2-2.
Dave Roberts picked up his third victory in relief, striking out three in two innings.

As years later, so it was told, my Father on leaving the maternity clinic rushed with others to help a Lady in distress. Following all gallantries being rendered and the lady revived and removed to the safe haven of her house, it thus prevailed that upon meeting the Bishop and curtsying in respect, it was only to to hear, as she then assumed, the Bishop break wind (fart).
Upon closer investigation (being a Lady of the Peer of the Realm) it was in fact determined to have occasioned from the Bishops Horse after stepping down from his carriage!
