The war is "bad" because it's an unconstitutional and illegal action taken against another sovereign nation that in NO way threatened, provoked or attacked the U.S.A. George W. Bush and the people that control his every move invaded Iraq for three terribly lame reasons:
1) The Bush family had a personal vendetta against Saddam Hussein since the days of Desert Storm when George H.W. Bush was ridiculed, criticized, and humiliated for not 'finish the job' and ousting Hussein at that time;
2) Bush, Cheney and their Exxon-Mobil buddies want all that OIL swimming underneath Iraq's sands so they can get richer and richer and richer feeding America's addiction to cheap, foreign OIL;
3) Ever since World War II, the giant U.S. military-industrial complex recognized how profitable 'war' could be. So they bought up all the politicians, hired pricey lobbyists, and formed special interest groups to promote and encourage more 'war'. Thus, the U.S. was involved in the Korean Conflict; the Cuban Missile Crisis; the Cold War; Vietnam and Desert Storm, all to boost the PROFITS of our huge industrial corporate conglomerates such as Halliburton, McDonnell-Douglas, Lockheed, the Carlyle Group, and so many other multi-billion-dollar companies.
The 'war' is "bad" because we're there for no justifiable or moral reason. We're there for OIL and PROFIT. That's all.
And killing for money is reprehensible, whether it's a two-bit robber at a fast food restaurant, or an ignorant, arrogant, incompetent, corrupt U.S. President (and an equally evil U.S. Congress) that spends TRILLIONS of taxpayers' dollars on such an impure and cowardly military action.

what is bad? just look at some of the hateful answers above. one guy says we should nuke them, for crying out loud, when our stated purpose is liberation. and he's not alone, there are others who agree. this war is dividing OUR nation. now they're talking about building a wall in Bhagdad (like Berlin? that really worked well didn't it?) and partitioning Iraq.
i don't even want to get into all the senseless deaths of the innocent civilians we are there to "liberate," or the many other moral issues, just looking selfishly at what it is costing us now that we are the big bully on the block, the trillions of dollars that we can ill afford to spend, the loss of so many american lives.

Yes. It was started on a lie. It has cost our country a great deal. It was the first time in history that America attacked first. The millions of dollars unaccounted for that have been spent on the war. The loss of thousands of our soldiers. The oil is the reason and it is not worth it. Bush is the first president to refuse to tap the federal reserves during an oil crisis but, that has not stopped him from loaning oil out of the federal reserves to his oil cronies. The list is almost infinite because every day he is in office there is another reason. The latest being him accusing democrats of being the terror with-in simply because they will not write him out a blank check for the war so he can keep padding the pockets of his cronies. He is dividing the country, he is the terrorist in my opinion.

Because this is a Holy war. The forces of Al-Quieda that we are fighting impose terror on others to please the god of Islam, allah. This is not a war against a country or government, this is a war against a strong belief that people hold that can not be fought with material weapons.
The U.S. has accomplished a lot in the middle east, but ongoing fighting there is going to lead to more American and Iraqi deaths. I don't think many people can pinpoint the exact reason our troops are there. Especially now, when so much trouble is going on in our country, the government needs to focus on the U.S. and fix it before trying to fix other countries.
I think this next presidential election will really change things for the better.

Loss of human life, speaks for itself; loss of economic life-- imagine how many new businesses could have been started in this country with money flushed into few pockets over there and another extremely great opportunity lost possibly forever--before start of war that region had youngest mean age for population, so instead of having all that energy friendly towards West most now hate us. Thanks to one very short sighted money grubbing politician.

Some reasons that came to mind quickly:
Was totally unnecessary
Has cost tens of thousands (if not hundreds of thousands) of lives; many more have been wounded, some disfigured for life
Is costing hundreds of billions of taxpayers’ dollars
Will cost billions in care for wounded veterans
Has destabilized Iraq and possibly the region
Has ruined much of the infrastructure of Iraq
Has provided a recruitment cause for terrorists
Has provided on-the-job training for terrorists
Has hurt the war in Afghanistan
Has exposed the weakness of American military
Has stretched the military thin causing the Army to lower its standards
Has alienated Muslims worldwide
Has lowered US prestige worldwide
Has empowered Iran
Will result in a Shiite dominated theocracy allied with Iran

Because one its a emotional disturber to those children of the military. I am one of those children and to see my mom and friends parents go fight a war that isnt worth it isnt right. Child think day in and day out "Is my mom/dad alright" "Will I see them ever again" Those types of questions are haunting and makes it hard to go through a single say. So I strongly feel its bad cause Bush is just sending troops out there like Johnson, and Kennedy did during the V-War.

It can never be won. You can't come between warring factions and solve the problem. It's degenerated into a minor civil war which will spread the moment the U.S. leaves.

This war is bad for many, many reasons, but mainly, because it is a war.
War is destruction, hunger, massacre, sickness, pain, children growing up in a terrible environment (if they survive)
no future for that poor people... a total disaster and an unfair way of "living" and dying.
Can you see any good reason for sustaining a war, any war at all?
