I do because lawn mowers can be very dangerous peices of equipment and you need some strength to push one. I would be afraid of a woman mishandling one on accident and getting her foot chopped off from the blade. Plus, you really need some arm strength to start the engine. Plus they need proper maintenance like changing or sharpening the blades, changing the oil, filling it with gasoline, changing the spark plug etc. and not many women think like that. They just like to start up things and go which is understandable since it really isn't their job to maintain and repair equipment.

Unless you have farm animals, then yes, it is a man's job.

You know what I LOVE about your questions Sandy? You get people ticked and it is hilarious to read their responses. They get sooooo worked up about nothing. ROFL. They need a sense of humour. ANd you must admit, kiddo, you are pretty funny some times. Even if it is unintentional.

Uhmmmmmmm I loved mowing the lawn! But I let HIM do the maintenance work. However, since I did most of the indoor stuff and the flowers and veggies, he did the lawn. It had nothing to do with who did what. I had an issue with his never doing diapers, however.

I live in a city full of retired seniors that is known as the City of Gardens because flowers grow all year round. This means there is a healthy business in garden and lawn maintenance. Easily half the companies are female owned and operated. I won't mention the fact that we are also the lesbian capital of Canada but there ya go, draw your own conclusions, LOL.

So it can be anyone's job, Sandy. Besides, as to arm strength, any woman who works in the home has PLENTY of that. Raising and caring for kids is fabulous exercise!

We really are not fragile little darlings unless we WANT a man to do something, then out comes the batting lashes and the sweet request. If that doesn't work the next tactic is "Get off your bum you lazy sob and mow the G-dam lawn!"

a guy's job?! I extensively utilized to mow the backyard as a infant (as considered one of my chores). So if a 14 300 and sixty 5 days previous woman can do it, unquestionably a grown woman can! i definitely particularly get excitement from mowing the backyard. while else are you able to take an hour to easily zone out and hear music? regrettably this mommy won't be able to do this these days and would not mow on the grounds that she's in an apt, yet i anticipate doing it lower back.

My husband does the lawn mower maintenance, but as to the actual mowing, we have a pretty large and rocky yard that is not suitable for a riding mower, so we usually split the mowing between a high cut push mower and a D.R. trimmer. I have no problem starting either, and in fact, I could probably start either of them more easily than some men I know.

I think you may be underestimating the female population.

Why that's very sweet of you for being so thoughtful, yet, I've cleaned a few lawn mower blades in my life time, mowed a few yards too, filled the tank a few times, started the engine a few times too, of course that is obvious, I just told you I've mowed a few lawns. right good exrcise that is, gets the leg muscles in good shape.. Guess what my feet are still attached. I have to admit it wasn't my favorite cup of tea that I can tell you. Still if the man is sick and the lawn really needs doing I'm the gal for the job; though I would prefer he let it go or hire a lawn boy (yard manicurist) I also know how to keep a car maintained, used to own one.

I think you are right, lawn mowers can be very dangerous and the woman is not able to take on this responsibility. It is based on this same logic I think the man should do all the kitchen work. I'm sure it wouldn't be safe to let the women be around so many sharp knives, hot grease and chemicals. I give my full support for you to do all the danderous jobs in your household. I think SANDSTORM is just deserving of the responsibility.

I don't know if you post these questions of yours just to get a rise out of people or, if you are serious. Mowing the lawn is no more a mans job than doing the dishes is a womans. Housework and yard work should be shared equally, unless one person doesn't work outside of the home. Then that person should take up more of the slack.

Women are strong enough to do yard work but I think the man should do the hard work. We can handle things like mowing the lawn...hell sometimes we do it better than men, but personally I wouldn't wanna b out in the hot sun, when i could be inside or working in my garden. See that's another thing, men have it easy they just have to push the lawn mower, when I'm working in my garden I have to get on my hands and knees to tend it

I think that every household is different. Sometimes a man likes to cook and the women likes yardwork. Gender stereotypes are based on just that-stereotypes. In my case, I hate cooking so he does it but I clean up. As long as things are divided fairly and equally shared, it doesn't matter which gender is out there mowing the lawn.

I dont think that it is a mans job...i love it when my hubby gets lazy or one of the kids and I go and do it. I used to help my dad cut grass when I was younger. BTW....I do all of what it takes to keep it running except for change the oil. I dont sharpen the blades because we take them to the shop to get done so if you are implying the women are weak then you are wrong and besides the only person weak here is you for slamming women to make yourself feel good about your so called man hood!!!!!!!!!

Sure. If however my man is ill or has been working really hard I like to surprise him and have the grass mowed by the time he comes home. Dinner on the table with candles and flowers. That is if I don't cut my fingers off using the blender.
