I have always believed that Global warming is a serious problem that is not even going to start to be dealt with until it is far too late. Anyone with half a brain knows that scientists have nothing to gain from making up a lie about it and everyone can see that the weather patterns around the world are changing. Also the people who say "Yeh Global warming ha why did it snow today then" are so thick it is unreal. The answer to your question is no I try to do a bit of research first or have first hand knowledge on a topic and then usually keep my first instinctual feeling as my view on that issue, political or otherwise. Right or wrong my instincts are usually pretty good, although they are not always correct. As I am not restricted in my thinking, to one political parties policies or belief system, my mind is freer to choose the view it believes correct, based on my own morals and principals.

I the spirit of bi partisanship I have recently spent more time researching GW and his cabinet. The issue is the idea of somebody really lying to a criminal fault. I'm still listening but more open about accepting data. Gonzales AG. I think he did not do anything criminal so far there is no solid evidence. Just let the ball slip a bit. Not a good idea this day and age.

For the most part, I tend to find things that back up the view I have already, but then I guess we all pretty much cherry pick when it comes to that. But, I have come to understand some of the views of the far right, though I disagree with them heartily for the most part. I don't care much for extremism in either direction, left or right. I have learned some things I never knew about political figures through this site though. But you always have to check those facts out, some of them come from biased sites and some of them don't.

Almost everyone on this catagory has staunch ideas.... As A hard core con for many years(I floundered with liberalism while I was young) I can't see me changing my mind on any issue...And the other side as well!!! Your basic philosophy will not change !!! I do have a few liberal views but not many!!!

I don't fit the mold for either party because I can't wrap myself around the same straight line beliefs.

What does affect me is HISTORY. When I watch what went down in the past, it helps me realize the policies that need to be avoided and ones that worked.

Listening to YA, I am disturbed that the logic and reasoning of some seem to be simply "uneducated emotions".

No, I listened and admired my parents and their parents. Experience with issues is the best information around. My parents have always been on my side, so I'll listen to them and then investigate the issues at hand for my self to always find they never lied to me. Bush on the other hand can't open his mouth without telling a lie. I wonder how much respect his own family has for him.

Not on here, Most people on YA aren't willing to hear or listen to the opinions of others.
Which is sad in a way, but what can you really do.

Not on YA. I have read books and articles that have made me better informed and eventually softened my position on some issues.

Some answers have caused me to do some heavier research to try and understand how they came up with their conclusion and why it was different than mine, but this usually just leads to cementing my original view. I don't remember any specific issues though.
