I love my name and would never change it. My brother legally changed both his first and last name a few years ago. That was hard for my parents and me to accept.

For a very long time in my life I wanted to change my name, because, never, I could find a meaning for my name. Until end last year, my sister told me what my name means (bright star) and a week later I got a Christmas gift from a friend, a swarovski crystal pendant in the shape of a star on a chain, she said the minute she saw it, she knew that was my gift, because it reminded her of me, exactly who I am.

I just changed my last name when I got married last year...it's a huge pain in the azz! There are documents all over the place that I forgot about til it came up....I probably STILL missed some.

I just go by initals anyway, so it's kind of a moot point, but I thought about dropping the last e on my first name to make it more Germanic. But I never did it.
