I don't feel guilty about "stealing" music because I still buy albums from struggling and local artists.
I'm not worried about being caught because the chances are truly that of finding a needle in a haystack. Aside from the fact that I'm smart enough to stick to small programs and abstain from uploading an absurd amount of music to them, the RIAA is unlikely to try to hunt down every file sharer out there. They just want to use a few people as examples.
It does not bother me that I'm "stealing" because I'm not. Downloading a song is no stealing because there is no pyhsical product to be stolen. I'm not encroaching on the intellectual property of the performer because I'm not representing the song as being my own. So what? The songs I download are from bands that are making a killing from touring, merchandising, and otherwise whoring themselves.
I suppose I just know where to draw the line.

Wow! Its amazing...I'm gonna get rewarded with aminimum of 2 points for answering this question regardless of if I steal music or not...I love it!!
Do I steal music from Limewire? Nah...not anymore...Limewire sucks these days. Do I steal music from the Internet? Not really, I have all the music I want at this point, and if something new comes along that I like, I'll either buy the CD or go to check out the band's MySpace.

any thing that you download from the Internet or lI'mewire could have virus and if you get a really bad virus than i could wipe out your computer. i would know because it has happen to 2 of my computers that i have had. so now on this computer im not going to use limewire or any other file sharing program. I'm just going to download music from my mom's computer and save it to a SD card and use it that way.

I get my music from Limewire...
No, I do not feel bad- The RIAA can kiss my butt...
It's sharing files...If they want to be like that then I want them to go back to the 80's when I used to sit in front of the TV and wait patiently for my favorite song to come on MTV so I could record it on my boombox...(the dog barking in the background always made it interesting..)
Or how about when my friend brought over the new Depeche Mode tape and I copied it using my duel cassette recorder..??! NO DIFFERENCE...
People have been copying music for years and years-- they're never going to stop it. The artists can make their money by going on tour and charging 50.00-250.00 per ticket and by selling merchandise. Everyone is too greedy these days...
I will however go out and BUY the CD of my favorite artists to have in my collection but I'm not going to spend 20.00 on a CD for ONE song..

It's not really stealing unless you copy an entire album that's just cheap, if you only want 1 or 2 songs its not that bad. But I try not to do it that often, I all ways feel like the music police are watching me when I do it.

How many times have you paid $15 bucks for an album/CD for 1 song only to find out that the rest of the album is crap? It's happpened to me many times. Who's stealing from who? I don't use p2p and haven't in years but I still get a ton of music from places like music blogs and private servers (ftp). If I like the album I'll buy it, if it sucks it gets pitched and I don't waste my money on crappy music again.

what i do is i on;ly download artists that put their stuff up for free
for example Nine Inch Nails put a whole Cd on the net just so it could gain popualrity
so no i don't feel bad if its what the artist intended
and plus
its not about that
its about the music
if i bought every song
i would be out $2000
but if i was to download unliscensed stuff
i wouldn't feel bad at all
because if i was an artist i would know that people are listening to me
and so who cares if they don't pay $1, its about getting your message across

How long after someone expresses an idea should it remain protected, and how much should a digital copy of a song actually cost?
No, I may be downloading but I'm not stealing.
