I've never seen one that did.

I'd imagine that the chipset upgrade needed to read a two would not be worth it for the few times it would be used.

no, but they should!
In this day and age $1 is not a lot of money, barely worthy of being a paper bill. It should be a coin. But here in the US, for some reason, people have historically rejected every dollar coin that has been presented.
Even $2 is not much for a bill, but considering what it is worth now, they really should bring back the $2 bill and make it acceptable in vending machines. Did you know that Canada not only has $1 coins, but also $2 coins (called Loonies) In fact I don't know if they even have $1 bills in Canada.

We really should not only have (and use) $2 bills, but also $2 coins!

No. Most of them take $1, 5, and 10 and sometimes 20. Since 2 is so uncommon I have never seen a vending machine that took them.

Why would you spend a 2 dollar bill? Most machines only read 1$ 5$ and 10$. It should have a little sticker on the machine saying what it accepts...

that would be a no. NO. definitely no. Haven't seen a vending machine yet that takes a $2 bills. Just 1s 5s and 10s for the most part. If there is one it isn't available to the general public, right? Right!!!

Not unless the vending machine's prices are over $1 but if they arent ,then there would be no way to give you your change back in dollar bills.

not, usually it says on the vending machine which coins and bills it accepts. Normally they accept 1 and 5 dollar bills, nickels, quarters, and dimes. Most don't accept pennys, or 2 dollar bills.

No, the machines are not programmed to accept 2 dollar bills, the scanner won't recognize them...
