Louise, there has continuously been prejudice interior the international, and regrettably, there'll continuously be somebody who thinks they are "extra useful" by way of their visual charm, financial status, faith, and so on. back in Biblical cases, the Jews concept they have been extra useful than the Samaritans, the Egyptians held the Israelites as slaves, and Christians have been tortured via the Romans. you're extremely astonishing once you say that no count what team a individual is in, there'll continuously be prejudice around. i think of a individual has to take very own accountability for removing prejudice from his/her very own heart, and while somebody says or does something blatantly racial or shows prejudice in any different case, then respond in a completely opposite way from what's asserted or finished. case in point, if a black individual calls me a "cracker" or "whitey", i seem the guy interior the attention, say "reliable morning" mutually as smiling, and pass on my way. i could initially sense offended, yet then I make myself remember that prejudice is a found out factor. i think of with regard to the undeniable fact that somebody or something made that individual sense that way in the direction of all white human beings and not me as somebody. it extremely is as much as me to no longer react because of the fact the guy expects me to. that would desire to sound slightly simplistic, even with the undeniable fact that it is the way i've got found out to handle it. i'm going to confess that I do sense some prejudice once I witness a Muslim guy making his spouse walk in the back of him instead of letting her walk beside him, yet then I determine if that's what they suspect, then there is not any longer something i can do to alter that concept of what they think of is right.

Often, yes. When my family calls, I'll not answer my home phone and then I'll listen for it to ring my cell phone and I still won't answer. I call them back later. This is the only way to keep my sanity nowadays.

I should have never left Tennessee.

I don't have to pretend, I haven't been "home" since the 70's.

I used to when someone who considered herself a "friend" of mine called me many times a day and tried to check up on me all the time. I didn't answer the phone nor the door. So: yes, I do :)

Na. I'm waiting for too many phone calls/packages. If I hear the phone ring I "NEED" to pick it up. The sound is too annoying.

Ha! All the time! No one is allowed in unless they call first...my steadfast rule. Unless it's a neighbor with an emergency or something...I'm not a total b*tch. :)
