I believe 17 is a young age and that you'll still have changes of your perspectives on marriage -- being afraid of it. I've been married for 7 years now and I believe that marriage is a lifetime commitment, it's something that you can't turn your back when you're no longer interested. It's all about acceptance because no matter how long you've been with your spouse (as boyfriend-girlfriend), you'll discover undesirable things / acts / habits that you can either accept (and make a happier marriage) or try to change (and make your marriage in conflict or fail). It's all about responsibility and being selfless because after marriage you're not just concerned with yourself but with your spouse (and children) as well. It's all about decision-making and healthy argument because you will be confronted by situations that require smart decisions and healthy talk / argument with your spouse. And lastly, marriage is something that made my life happier and worthwhile ;)
