Look into the Alaska Ferry.
It leaves Bellingham, WA and goes up to various ports in Alaska. This way, you would never officially leave the U.S.

As far as driving through Canada, depending on how long ago your conviction was, and for what, you may or may not be able to.

Hope you get there and enjoy!

Didn't you ask this in another posting?

The answer is the same.

You do have a problem. In order to overland to Alaska from the lower forty-eight, you must pass through Canada. The Canadians frown on ex-felons coming into their country.

Depending on your conviction you might be able to post a bond to travel through Canada on your way to Alaska; check with the local Canadian Customs and Immigration folks or on line.

The only other possibility would be by the Alaska Marine highway; as long as they do not port in Canada, you could go that way. This is the Alaska Marine Ferry system.

Good Luck.
